| Our journey started with 2nd Harvest NPC 2016, thereafter, Mark Maingard met Jae Evans from OTB Global – their vision is a world in which all children are physically and spiritually nourished. From this, OTB Africa was born and 2nd Harvest became Outside the Bowl Africa. It became our vision to feed 500 000 people daily, not only with a nutritional meal, but also spiritually, and for this reason, we have joined hands with Communities of Abundance. We have acquired a third facility in Wellington, South Africa, which will have the capacity to manufacture large amounts of our products. These facilities and our partnership with large food corporations enable us to procure essential food services at reasonable prices.
According to Oxfam International, COVID-19 is deepening the hunger crisis in the world’s hunger hotspots and creating new epicenters of hunger across the globe. By the end of the year, 12,000 people per day could die from hunger linked to COVID-19, potentially more than will die from the disease itself.
